Mi'ir Wort—May '22 Discovery Submission
1. The fruit is decidedly less magical—and arguably less attractive—than the spectacular flower. It's also much safer to consume. It has a bumpy rind filled with soft, gourd-like flesh. Natives of the Divine Realm claim it's the most decadent fruit in the realms, though Plushpets from other realms describe the taste as "somewhere between a sour pumpkin and a bitter lemon". A mi'ir wort only blooms once in its life. Thus, it only ever makes one fruit.
2. Inside the fruit is hundreds of tiny, angular seeds, faintly resembling shards of broken glass. They have a hard husk and dark inner flesh.
3. The stem and leaves are filled with a thick, jelly-like matrix, much like many succulents. It's a component in various magical skin creams, poultices, and ointments, though its side effects are arguably dubious...
4. The mi'ir wort grows up one leaf at a time, looking not unlike an iris or tulip, before blooming. It's neither particularly large nor small, usually reaching a height of 24 to 42 inches.
5. The bulb is unbelievably toxic, frustratingly delicate, and to the frustration of many gardeners, known to randomly die whenever it pleases. It is necessary to completely coddle it if one wants any success growing one, and a dash of unconditional patience is recommended.
The mi'ir wort, known sometimes as an "vainbloom", is an unusual flowering plant most famous for its reflective petals. It cannot be found outside Divine Realm, being that it's too picky to grow under any sunlight less pure and bright. Its magical properties are well known, though the magic weaved with its petals often comes at a terrible price... or at least, a rather inconvenient price, on a good day. Gazing into the reflection of a mi'ir wort is said to curse the looker with horrible luck, though arcane researchers can't confirm or deny if this claim is "just made up by some guy". Better safe than sorry, perhaps?

Hey, this is my first art drawn for this site! I'm still grinding seeds, and this month's discovery prompt was a really great excuse to draw a pretty plant. If you're reading this and you like my entry, I would really appreciate a vote in the Discord?
And just for fun, here's the original sketch I did to feel out the concept!
